Who We Are

Trilha Mídia is a production company dedicated to documentary filmmaking. Our gaze is always turned toward the beauty that reveals itself in everyday lives — and our desire is to create spaces where people can truly be who they are. More than that: where they can allow themselves to discover who they are, or who they may still become. That’s what we call “cinema of affection.”

This attentive and sensitive approach is reflected in the company’s body of work, led by the directing, producing, and editing duo Ricardo Martensen and Felipe Tomazelli. Trilha’s first feature film, Cine São Paulo, won Best Documentary at the Biarritz Festival and was part of the official selection of several national and international events, such as It’s All True, AFI DOCS, FIDBA, among others. The film premiered in theaters in November 2019 and aired on broadcast TV in January 2020.

Over the past eight years, the company has released films featured at major festivals around the world and on TV channels such as HBO, Cultura and Globo. The documentary Confisco, a co-production with Boutique Filmes and HBO, is currently available on HBO Max. Other projects in development have recently received grants from the Sundance Festival, IDFA Bertha Fund, Berlin Film Festival, and Göteborg Film Festival. Retomada, a co-production with Olé Produções directed by Ricardo, premiered at It’s All True Festival 2024 and was licensed by Globo Group.

The duo’s versatility allows Felipe and Ricardo to collaborate at different stages of other companies’ productions — particularly in Screenwriting, Directing, and Editing. Additionally, they also take on specialized roles such as Cinematography (Ricardo) and Production Sound (Felipe).

Trilha also applies the language of documentary to tell the stories of institutions and brands such as L’Occitane, PepsiCo, Ambev, among others.
